Dev Diary #1 - Apple Arcade Release!

We released Potion Punch 2+ on Apple Arcade! What's next for the dev team? Find out more!

Potion Punch 2+ on Apple Arcade

Last week, we released Potion Punch 2+ as part of Apple Arcade's January collection of games! 🎉 We've had one heck of a ride since then, and we've been catching and quashing bugs left and right. 🐛

We're moving fast to improve the game, and while we've encountered some less-than-savory reactions to the release, we greatly appreciate the players who have helped us by catching bugs, providing feedback, and even just saying something nice!

Rest assured we're working around the clock to address your concerns. 🧙

Check out the entire changelog!

Critical Data Rollbacks Issue

Heads up! There is a nasty data reset bug in 1.00.39 for players originating from 1.00.38 who ended up skipping some tutorials from Peakwood Potions. If you're already in Eversand onwards, I highly recommend not to re-enter Peakwood until we release the next update, 1.00.40.

This bug is an unintentional byproduct of some tutorials getting skipped, so players are forced back into the tutorial with the exact data expected of that tutorial.

We put in a fix in 1.00.40 so that this kind of rollback does not ever happen again.

Unfortunately the rollback is irreversible as we don't have access to manipulate the save data for players from our end. We are working on a way to compensate players affected by this through redeemable rewards instead. We'll work that feature into a later update. In the meantime we'll keep track of those who've reported that they've been affected by this!

Our sincere apologies to everyone. We've had a rocky (buggy) launch but we'll make it right!

Our Help Center is Live!

As you can imagine, we're buried in a mountain of support tickets and this can be overwhelming for a small time. To address this, we've made our Help Center available for players to find articles about known bugs.

We're working to add more guides here and will keep this updated as we continue releasing changes for the game.

If you have a bug you've encountered, please try to check out the articles listed here before sending an email! A little goes a long way in helping us give our support team, well, support! 😻

Mana Reworks for Potion Punch 2+

The most prominent feedback we've received are about the Mana System, so we've made it our Design team's top priority to give it a refresh for the Apple Arcade version. Here's a note from our Lead Designer:

We hear your concerns about the Mana system feeling too similar to traditional Energy mechanics found in free-to-play games. While summoning Workers is intended as an optional mechanic to help players navigate certain levels they find to be challenging, we don't want it to feel too restrictive to gameplay.

We're currently exploring ways to improve the Mana system. In the meantime, we'll increase Mana rewards from finishing quests and completing levels as we work toward a more long-term solution.

- Christian Katipunan, Lead Designer

Potion Punch 2 Will Be Delayed

We soldier on as we gear up for the relaunch! We originally announced that the F2P version would have its major update in late January, but with the concerns we've heard from players in the Apple Arcade version, we've decided to delay it for a couple of weeks.

Dev Steam Recap 2025 (Carousel Post)

We're taking this time to focus on fixing the critical bugs reported to us, as these will likely crop up as well in the F2P version on Android and iOS. We're committed to giving you a version you'll enjoy, even if it means having you wait a little bit more.

Don't worry, Potion Punch 2 will come soon!
